Mental Health Workgroup Launches “You Good?” A Survey on Men’s Mental Health
The Coalition for a Healthier Frederick County's (Healthier Frederick) Mental Health Workgroup is dedicated to reducing stigma and improving mental well-being in our community. Healthier Frederick brings together a multitude of community partners, including healthcare providers, community organizations, local leaders, and more to advance health equity and address community health challenges, such as the stigma around mental health that men in Frederick County and beyond are experiencing.
Let’s face it – men don’t always talk about how they’re really doing. Our Mental Health Workgroup thinks it’s time that changed, and it starts with listening. Men's mental health stigma refers to the societal pressure on men to appear strong and unemotional, which discourages them from seeking help and contributes to untreated mental health issues, increased suicide rates, and reduced quality of life.
We are launching a survey called “You Good? A Survey on Men’s Mental Health” that will be open from April 21 to May 12, and your participation is essential. No fluff. No judgement. Just a chance to share what’s really going on when it comes to mental health, stress, stigma, and support.

Our survey aims to gain a foundational level of knowledge about and better understand the experiences and challenges men face with their mental health and wellness. Our mission is to identify the level of awareness, stigma, barriers, and needs surrounding men’s mental health in Frederick County. By amplifying the voices of local men, we aim to develop a community-driven communications campaign that promotes awareness, reduces stigma, and connects men with the resources they need to prioritize their well-being.
We strongly encourage you to take part in our survey and share it with your networks. It takes less than 10 minutes, and your voice is vital for supporting our mission and shaping our community campaign built with men, for men right here in Frederick County.
This isn’t just another survey. It’s a step toward making it easier for men to speak up, get support, and prioritize well-being without feeling like they’re going at it alone.
The survey closes May 12 – don't wait! Take the survey here!
Thank you for showing up and contributing to this important conversation for yourself and your community. Together, we can create a supportive environment that addresses men's unique challenges.
